Roland is a husband, father of 3 boys and has a keen interest in golf and outdoor activities in general, and is also passionate about life and business developments on the Island. He has sat on the GSCCA technical committee and Executive for almost 10 years now and assumed the role of President in May 2023. Roland is a chartered accountant and qualified in South Africa with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants, and has also been a member of the ICAEW since 2010. Through his role as president of the GSCCA Roland also represents the GSCCA on the GIBA council.
Roland qualified with PwC in South African and after a short experience in Guernsey, decided to relocate with PwC to Guernsey where he was appointed to partner in 2016. Roland currently works in audit and is also the current People Partner for PwC in the Channel Islands.
His experience is broad in financial services and he specialised in the audit of alternative investment products and on the GSCCA is an active and passionate contributor to both technical committee matters as well as industry/government consultations on matters that may impact our members, the Island and the financial services industry in general.
Richard is the Managing Partner at Ernst & Young LLP, Guernsey (“EY”). Richard started his career in 1995 and is focussed primarily on clients in Banking and Wealth & Asset Management sector. His current and previous audit portfolio of clients includes a range of companies listed on the premium segment of the LSE including FTSE 100 and 250, AIM, Euronext and TISE as well as a range of private funds. Richard heads up EY’s Financial Accounting and Advisory Services group in Guernsey. Richard was seconded to EY’s Wealth & Asset Management centre of excellence as IFRS leader for 2 years and he spent 5 years working in EY IFRS’s technical group as the reviewer for numerous companies listed on UK and European exchanges.
Richard is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Richard is Vice President and a member of the technical subcommittee, having been a member of the subcommittee since 2010.
Cyril is Head of Office in Guernsey and part of the Channel Islands management team. He has been with the firm for over 23 years and specialises in audit work for financial services and investment company clients, in particular listed and non-listed funds, their managers and administrators in a range of alternative asset classes. Cyril has a number of large private equity and commercial audit clients.
Stuart is an associate partner in the financial services Portfolio Audit and Assurance practice and is based in Guernsey. He has responsibilities for a broad portfolio of primarily investment funds, private equity and insurance companies, with over 25 years financial services experience built up working in Guernsey, Jersey and Dublin. Stuart’s role as Associate Partner includes leading the Non-Executive Director briefing programme of lunch seminars targeting the Channel Island NED community to brief them on current tax, accounting and regulatory matters.
Stuart’s current audit clients primarily comprise of listed investment funds, investment management, private equity structures and insurance engagements. Stuart has built up extensive knowledge of company reporting and corporate governance in the UK and Guernsey, as well as significant experience in IFRS and UK GAAP. In addition, Stuart has considerable banking, fiduciary, internal controls, internal audit and transaction services experience.
Rachid is a Partner at KPMG in the Crown Dependencies. Rachid has more than 20 years’ experience in delivering audit and assurance services to the asset management industry working across a diverse range of sectors. Rachid is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is the Chairman of the Training & Courses Committee.
Nathan joined BDO in Guernsey in September 1997 and trained with the firm, qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2001 and obtained Fellow status in 2006. He has been involved with a wide variety of audit engagements from listed investment funds, captive insurance structures, large trading companies and trusts through to small local owner managed businesses.
Nathan is particularly well-known for his work in the insurance sector. He has expertise in auditing the numerous structures contained within the insurance sector, such as a Protected Cell Company (PCC), Incorporated Cell (IC), Insurance-linked Securities (ILS), Pure Captive or Rent-a-Cell structures. He is proud to lead an insurance sector team at BDO in Guernsey.
Jo is a Tax Partner at Deloitte based in Guernsey but responsible for tax across the Channel Islands. Jo started her career in the UK working for Andersen where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Adviser. She advises clients in a range of sectors on local taxation, including substance, and new areas of taxation such as Pillar 2, as well as international taxation. She was Chair of the GSCCA Tax Sub-Committee from 2010 to 2021 and President from 2021 to 2023. She continues to provide technical input to the GSCCA Tax Sub-Committee and remains on the GSCCA Executive.
Steven is a Director at PwC and works in the Risk Management and Audit Regulatory team. Steven's core specialisms are Private Equity, Market Traded Companies and Audit Regulatory matters. Steven is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, he acts as an Audit Regulatory Advisor to the GSCCA Executive Committee and sits on a working group with the Guernsey Registry regarding Market Traded Companies and the Crown Dependencies' Audit Rules and Guidance.
Mark is a Senior Financial Reporting Manger at Aztec. Mark has more than 12 years’ experience in the Fund industry working across a diverse range of Private Equity, Venture Capital and Debt clients, where he has also acted as non-executive director for various Guernsey based companies, including regulated general partners and fund structures. Mark joined to the Executive Committee in May 2020
Vicki is Managing Director of Cleland & Co Limited. Cleland is an independent, locally owned accountancy practice that offers a full range of accountancy, audit, tax and business advisory services. Their client portfolio includes a broad range of clients, with a focus on owner managed businesses and financial services companies. Vicki is also a member of the Taxation Committee.
David is a Partner at EY and leads the Guernsey tax practice. David started his career over 25 years ago in the UK, before spending almost 10 years with EY in New Zealand. After a period working with financial services businesses back in the UK he moved to Guernsey in 2013.
David has overall responsibility for Guernsey tax advice and compliance for a full range of clients from all industries, including, banking, fiduciary and asset management businesses. He also supports local clients outside the financial services sector and advises high net worth individuals.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Chartered Accountant with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
David is Chair of the Tax Subcommittee, having been a member of the Subcommittee since 2014.
Jane joined the GSCCA in September 2011. Her role includes support for the Executive and Training and Courses Sub Committees, organizing the Society’s CPD courses and events for members, the Annual Dinner and social events. Jane is also responsible for co-ordinating school visits to promote the accounting industry and runs the GSCCA Scholarship scheme. Jane led the implementation of the Societies two websites launched in 2018 and 2024. She considers her main role to be liaison with and direct support for the members of the Society.
